What an adventure!
This past weekend we went on our first vacation as a family of 4. We have traveled some with the 2 boys, but this was an ACTUAL intentional vacation and it was so much fun! Several other families had planned to go to Sunriver and rent a house together. We weren't able to commit when they were in the planning phase so later we caught up and ended up renting a second house and sharing it with another family and our friend Eric. It worked out well. Ethan and L.J. each had a little buddy in the house, and we were able to have a great time doing different activities together as a family. We also met up with the other families for dinners, potluck style. So fun!
The first evening we were there, we spent time at one of the indoor swimming pools (Mavericks). Ethan was loving it. Luke was a little cold but he still had fun getting to ride with mom and dad. There was a little water slide there and Ethan LOVED it.
The second day all the men left to do a round of golf (it was Seth's Fathers' Day gift) and some of the Mommies took the kids to a nearby playground.
The next day we spent some time in the village. There was a little shopping area and the kids were all excited about the train. So they all rode it. As exciting as it was, I decided to stay behind and take pictures instead.

"Peek a boo!"
(notice Seth crying to get off the ride)
We also attempted a family bike ride.
It.was.a.disaster. In Ethans' defense, he is not proficient in riding his bike. He doesn't feel comfortable using the brakes, he usually puts his feet on the ground to stop. He just got his bike a month ago, and when you combine his lack of biking skill with the excitement of a new place, with friends, it was just too overwhelming for him to handle. He was scared that we would leave him behind, and every little slant in the terrain was a giant "HILL" that was very scary for him. Enough said. it was a nightmare.
A moment I will never forget. Seth helping him get his bike home...
The majority of our last few days was spent at the SHARC water park. Slides, Pools, Lazy River... It was a lot of fun. Beautiful weather. Great photo ops.
