Glendalough! This is an incredible landmark. The tower itself is nearly 1000 YEARS OLD! MIND BLOWN. It was built by monks and still stands today, surrounded by the church remains, and a cemetery with headstones that date back to year 900, and some as new as 2013...It's truly amazing. I felt like it deserved a post all of its own.
(After we viewed Glendalough we made our way north to the town of Shannon to the Bunratty Castle Hotel. We arrived late that night. More on that later)
