Ireland Adventures day 2: Part 2 , Pub Life and Book of Kells

Wow. What a crazy busy day. After lunch we took a short rest at our dorm, then continued onto a guided tour of the trinity college campus which ended at the Book of Kells (photos weren't allowed..boo) and also the Longroom Library which was unreal. For those that don't know the Book of Kells is an aincent manuscript go the 4 gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) that were hand written by monks hundreds of years ago using cali graph and many other artistic Gaelic art and symbols and unscripted on calfskin. It's really very amazing, and one of the most looked at books in Ireland.. it has an amazing story if you care to google it. The page is turned once ever 3 months by special page turners trained at keeping it preserved. Pretty crazy!

We then took off on a nice hike down the streets of Dublin searching for a specific shop that we later found no longer exsisted.. on that journey we crossed the bridge over the River Liffey. (Pictured below)...we also discovered a great pub Gogartys' which featured live music, great fish n chips, and free hats! Yay!

We went "home" and mom and Grandma crashed and Seth and I went on a late walk out on Grafton street. It's nearly dead on a Sunday night but we did find a great Gelato and Crepe place. Yum! Nutella and strawberries. We crashed when we got back and slept a solid 9 hours. Finally adjusated to the time diff!

Enjoy the pictures!

(The one of me and the sweet old Irish guy was great until he looked at me like I had a 3rd eye because I didn't have any coins to give him. Call me unprepared....)
